The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, submitted that during the pendency of this writ petition, the petitioner has been given promotion to the next higher post and that the petitioner has also retired from service. The learned counsel, accordingly submitted that he may be allowed to bring on record those documents by filing an additional affidavit and to hear the writ petition on merit. Mr. Th. Vashum, learned G.A., on the other hand, submitted that as the petitioner has already been retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation and as the petitioner has already been promoted to the higher post which he is seeking for promotion, no cause survives for adjudication and the present writ petition can be closed as infructuous. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is hereby closed. However, it is made clear that the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court again for redressing any grievances.
