HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - C No. - 32487 of 2025 Court No. - 21 HON'BLE MANOJ KUMAR GUPTA, J. HON'BLE ARUN KUMAR, J. 1. Heard counsel for the petitioner. Sri Dinesh Kumar Misra, Advocate, appears on behalf of the respondents. 2. The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus directing respondent no. 3 to renew and issue fresh passport to the petitioner in pursuance of Application Reference No. 25-2001815448. 3. The petitioner was issued a notice on 24.4.2025 by Consular Section, Embassy of India, Kuwait, where the petitioner applied for renewal of passport, that FIR No. 49/2023 is registered against him at Police Station, Kiratpur. The said fact was concealed by the petitioner while making application for the passport. By the said notice, the petitioner was required to submit a case closure order or permission from the concerned court for a short validity passport. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner was not aware of the said criminal case when he filed the application. It is not disputed that the said criminal case was registered against the petitioner. The petitioner has not responded to the notice dated 24.4.2025 issued to him so far. 5. We leave it open to the petitioner to respond to the notice issued to him by the department on 24.4.2025 and in which event, the competent authority would take the reply into consideration while processing the application of the petitioner for issuance/renewal of passport. 6. The petition is disposed of accordingly. September 24, 2025 Jaideep/- Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Mohammad Asif Counsel for Respondent(s) : A.S.G.I., Dinesh Kumar Misra (Arun Kumar,J.)
