The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent No. 2 to renew /re-issue the passport of the petitioner within stipulated period. 2. Shri Harsh Bardhan Choubey, learned counsel for Regional Passport Officer has placed on record the written instructions received from the department. According to it, FIR No.98/2022, under Sections 323, 506, 325 IPC and FIR No. 173/2024, under Sections 323, 504, 506, 147, 325, 308 IPC are registered against the petitioner. The petitioner has been issued a show cause notice on 26.09.2024 and his response is still awaited. As the pendency of the aforesaid criminal cases is not being disputed and the petitioner has also not responded to the show cause notice so far, therefore, we dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to respond to the show cause notice and also to obtain no-objection certificate, if so advised, from the concerned court in terms of the judgment of a Coordinate Bench in Writ-C No. 41540 of 2023 (Pawan Kumar Rajbhar vs. Union of India and 2 others) and other connected matters decided on 19.01.2024.
