Impugned in this petition is Detention Order No.155/DMS/PSA/2022 dated 28.11.2022 passed by District Magistrate, Shopian, whereby the detenu has been detained under preventive detention with a view to prevent him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of security of the State. 2. It is fairly submitted by learned counsel for the parties that the maximum period of detention under which detenu has been detained is two years, which period has already expired, therefore, impugned order has outlived its life. 3. In view of submission made by learned counsel for petitioner, this petition by afflux of time is rendered infructuous and, is accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the respondents to release the detenu, if not required in any other case. 4.
