The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuing directions to respondents No. 4 and 5 to produce the detenue, namely Varsha, minor daughter of the petitioner, before this Court by appointing a Warrant Officer.

The detenue has been produced by ASI Gurdev Singh and ASI Narinder Kaur before this Court today. It is stated that she was in the custody of respondent No. 6.

The detenue is willing to go back to her parental house and stay with the petitioner. The petitioner is not present in Court today. Let safe custody of the detenue be handed over by the aforesaid police officials to her mother i.e. the petitioner today itself. The police officials shall record the statement of the petitioner qua receiving of custody of the detenue.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that since the detenue has been recovered and her custody has been handed over to the petitioner, the present petition may be disposed of.
