Mr. S.R.Lyngdoh, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that affidavit on behalf of the State respondents has been received. He further submits that as an undertaking had been given in the affidavit that once the term of the present VEC is over, election to the new VEC will be conducted and all eligible individuals will be allowed to contest the VEC, the writ petition may be closed, as the term of the present VEC has expired on 04-08-2025. 2025:MLHC:704 3 2. On hearing the submissions of the learned counsel for the parties, and as it is not disputed that the current term of the Moulakandi VEC has expired on 04-08-2025, it is expected that as per the undertaking given in para 13 of the affidavit of the State respondents, fresh elections will be conducted by allowing the eligible voters to take part in the same. It is also observed herein that as the matter concerning the eligibility of job card holders has been a subject matter in various writ petitions, it is expected that the State respondents will verify the list of eligible voters before the election is conducted. 3.
