Heard the parties.
The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 362 of 2024, for the offence registered under Sections 20, 22 & 25 of N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the court of Sri Shambhu Lal Saw, learned Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, N.D.P.S. Cases, Chatra.
On 30.11.2024, Chatra Sadar Police intercepted a motorcycle near Paradih forest. Petitioner was apprehended and on search, 18 kgs. of cannabis were recovered from his possession.
It was submitted that the quantum of seized cannabis comes within the purview of intermediary quantity. It was further submitted that petitioner has got no criminal antecedent.
In view of the submission made above, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Sri Shambhu Lal Saw, learned Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, N.D.P.S. Cases, Chatra, in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 362 of 2024.
