(ORAL) The prayer in the present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.2 to 3 to provide adequate security and protection to the petitioners who are anticipating danger at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 6. The learned State counsel while referring to the reply dated 22.01.2025 submits that the petitioners were directed to join the inquiry. They did not do so. When the police officials reached the address mentioned in the complaint written by the petitioners to get their statements recorded they were not found present at the said address. The statement of Rajinder Kaur (mother of petitioner No.1-Harpreet Kaur) was recorded to the effect that she did not know about the whereabouts of the petitioners. The statement of Paramjit Kaur w/o petitioner No.2- Jatinder Singh was recorded who stated that her husband Jatinder Singh is in a live-in-relationship with Harpreet Kaur (petitioner No.1).
