A case has been registered against the Petitioner herein for the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 409 I,PC. 3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, iS that the Assistant superintendent of Posts, Parvathpuram Sub-Division lodged a police report alleging that the accused, being a Post Master, pedhamariki Branch Post Office, misappropriated an amount of Rs.53,000/-in 17 recurring deposits by taking money from the account holders but not crediting to their respective postal accounts and absconded. 4. The accusation against the Petitioner herein iS that She misappropriated an amount of Rs.53,000/- from Post office prRiE being post Master and she appI''ed for leave, as she was carrying 6th month pregnancy. Her successor who took charge noticed that some amount was ml'sapproprI|ated.
