Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. 2. The petitioner by means of the present writ petition has prayed for the following relief:- "(i). Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the Respondents to abate the entire proceedings of Ceiling Case No.2909 of 1976 (State Vs. Safaqat) in view of Section 3 & 4 of the Repeal Act, 1999. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents not to interfere in the peaceful possession of the petitioner. (iii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to correct the revenue entries so far as Plot no.764 min. area 6317.93 Sq. Mt., Village-Shekhpura, Tehsil & District Saharanpur. (iv) Issue any other suitable writ order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case; so that justice may be done. (v) To award the costs of the present writ petition to the petitioner.." 3. The petitioner has remedy of filing application before the competent authority for getting the Ceiling Case No.2909 of 1976 (State Vs. Safaqat) Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Madhusudan Dikshit Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. Ayaz Ahmad .....Petitioner(s) State of U.P. and Another .....Respondent(s) abated after promulgation of the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repeal Act, 1999. 4. In such view of the fact, we dispose off the writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application before the competent authority to get the Ceiling Case No.2909 of 1976 (State Vs.
