1. The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant the statutory pay scales to the petitioners as per the statute/rules and to release the benefit to them by following the law laid down by this Court in CWP-15896-2023 (O&M), titled as “ Dr.Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Others.” and CWP-17064-2017, titled as “Ajay Kumar Singla and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others”

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already submitted a representation dated 05.07.2025 (Annexure P-14) and he shall be satisfied at this stage, in case, appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to decide the representation dated 05.07.2025 (Annexure P-14) submitted by the petitioners in a time bound manner.

CWP-24882-2025 -2 present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and has no serious objection to the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, at this stage.
5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record carefully.

The respondent No.1 is directed to decide the representation dated 05.07.2025 (Annexure P-14) in the light of the judgments passed by this Court in CWP-15896-2023 (O&M), titled as “Dr.Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Others.” and CWP-17064-2017, titled as “Ajay Kumar Singla and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others” and to take a decision by passing a well reasoned and speaking order within a period of four months from today.
7. In case, the petitioners are found entitled to any relief, the same shall be released to them along with reasonable rate of interest within a period of two months, thereafter.
