HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - A No. - 13672 of 2025 Court No. - 32 HON'BLE SAURABH SHYAM SHAMSHERY, J. 1. Heard Sri Muktesh Kumar Singh, learned counsel for petitioner and Sri Santosh Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for State-Respondents. 2. Petitioner was a candidate in the recruitment process initiated in the year 2021 for the post of Lecturer (English). Admittedly, he remained unsuccessful in the first select list and when subsequently in the year 2023 a process was initiated to fill up vacant seats, no vacant post was mentioned in said process so far as post of Lecturer (English) is concerned. 3. Now petitioner has approached this Court in the year 2025, i.e., after more than two years, on basis of an information dated 21.06.2022 received under Right to Information Act that one candidate has not joined on the post of English (Lecturer) and learned counsel for petitioner submits that claim of petitioner can be considered on said vacant post that information given in aforesaid process of 2023 was incorrect. 4. As referred above, even if it is taken as a true fact that one of the candidate has not joined on the post of English (Lecturer), since petitioner had an information way back in the year 2022, however, there is no explanation why he has not approached as soon as the process was Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Muktesh Kumar Singh Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. Lalit Kumar Gautam .....Petitioner(s) State Of U.P. And 4 Others .....Respondent(s) commenced for filling of vacant posts in the year 2023. Therefore, at this stage, i.e., after more than two years, claim, if any, of petitioner cannot be agitated. 5. Reliance placed by learned counsel for petitioner on a judgment passed by a Coordinate Bench of this Court in Manoj Kumar Pandey vs. State of U.P. and others (Writ-A No. 14121 of 2022), decided on 29.09.2022, would not be helpful since the facts of present case are different. 6. At this stage Court takes note of a judgment passed by Supreme Court in State of Uttar Pradesh vs Pankaj Kumar, (2022)1 SCC 335 that there must be some timeline in a recruitment process and it cannot be extended for indefinite period. 7. In aforesaid circumstances, no case is made out to grant any relief. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed. October 10, 2025 AK WRIA No. 13672 of 2025 2 (Saurabh Shyam Shamshery,J.)
