The present writ petition has been filed praying for direction to the respondents to refund the retention money deposited by the petitioners for due performance of a contract. 2. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners have duly discharged their obligations under the contract but so far the retention money has not been refunded. 3. In similar facts and circumstances, a number of writ petitions were entertained and the respondents have refunded the retention money in all the cases except in one case where they have filed affidavit showing cause for not refunding the retention money. 4. In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, we dispose of the instant petition by providing that respondent no.1 shall refund the retention money to the petitioners within two weeks from the date of communication of the instant order or shall pass order in writing disclosing reasons for not refunding the retention money.
