The instant intra-court appeal is directed against the order of learned Single Judge dated 02.11.2022 in Writ-A No. 14520 of 2022 by which the writ petition filed by the appellant-petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to declare him selected for the post of Sub-Inspector (Civil Police) (Male/Female), Platoon Commander, PAC (Male) and Fire Service Second Officer (Male) in pursuance of notification dated 24.02.2021 and issue appointment letter to him has been dismissed. 2. The appeal is reported to be beyond time by 1007 days and there is no proper explanation for the same. 3. The learned Single Judge has held on basis of instructions furnished by learned Standing Counsel that the petitioner had scored 287.3992086 marks in the written examination whereas the cut off marks for the category (EWS) under which the petitioner was claiming appointment, was much higher i.e. 303.95. 4. The main contention of the counsel for the appellant is that as per expectation of the petitioner, he should have been given 305 marks. 5. This only appears to be expectation of the petitioner but in fact the marks awarded to him is 287.3992086 and there is no material on record to establish that the appellant-petitioner, in fact, scored 305 marks.
