Keyal, learned Standing Counsel, Customs for the respondent. 2) Apprehending his arrest, the petitioner, namely, Tajul Ali, son of Nakib Ali, resident of village-Deberapar Gaon, Police Station-Jorhat, district-Jorhat has filed this application on Page No.# 2/2 17.03.2025 under Section 482 BNSS, 2023, seeking his pre-arrest bail in Customs Case No. 33/UCL/IMP/AS/GAU/2024-25 dated 22.11.2024 under the Customs Act, 1962. 3) Matter relates to recovery of Foreign Cigarettes from a commercial vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-03-CC-5407 owned by the petitioner. 4) The petitioner, on 10.03.2025, on receipt of notice of the Customs Divison, prayed for time of 20 (twenty) days so as to gather sufficient documents/evidence and to place them before the authority concerned. 5) Perused the case records of Customs Department (Anti-Smuggling Unit) placed before the Court by Mr. K. Jain, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. S. C. Keyal, learned Standing Counsel, Customs for the respondent. 6) Considering his application, the 20 (twenty) days period will be over on 30.03.2025. As such, by 1st of April, 2025 the petitioner shall appear before the Superintendent (Anti-Smuggling), Customs Division, Guwahati pursuant to the summons issued by the said authority on 27.02.2025. 7) With the above observation, this pre-arrest bail application stands disposed of.
