These applications have been filed seeking to amend the prayer portion in the main writ petitions. According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, candidates who registered subsequent to the registration of the petitioners were given regular appointment. Hence, the petitioners seek to amend the prayer to the effect that they may be granted notional seniority with effect from 11.08.2001 and 30.01.2001, respectively, and monetary benefits with effect from 29.03.2005, being the respective dates of appointment of the petitioners. 2. Being satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavits, I see no prejudice in allowing the said applications for amendment as prayed for. Accordingly, these amendment applications are allowed. The issue as to whether the petitioners would ultimately be entitled to the relief sought for, including the consequential relief, is left open for consideration in the main writ petitions. 3. The Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendments in the prayer. 4.
