Petitioners, before this Court, claim that the land in question was allotted way back in the year 1979. Cancellation proceedings were initiated which was dismissed in the year 1982, against which, a revision was filed by respondents which was also dismissed. The petitioners are in possession over the said land for long time. Now, the police authorities are constructing police post over the said land. The petitioner had approached the District Magistrate, Agra and Commissioner, Agra Division, Agra and an application has been moved on 21.08.2025, which is pending consideration. 2. As no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending, the writ petition is being disposed of, at the admission stage, without calling for counter affidavit, with a direction upon respondent no.2- District Magistrate, Agra to decide the application of the petitioners dated 21.08.2025, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 3. With the aforesaid direction, present writ petition stands disposed of. 4. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the case on merit.
