The prayer in the instant criminal writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 4 to take appropriate action against respondents No.5 to 16 who are harassing and threatening the petitioners by interfering in their peaceful life and liberty; with further directions to the official respondent No.2 to decide representation dated 13.08.2025 (Annexure P-3). 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners have been threatened by the private respondents No.5 to 16 i.e. family of petitioner No.2. 3. On advance notice, Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G. Punjab, submitted that the age of the petitioner No.1 is 42 years and the age of petitioner No.2 is 19 years. Though the petitioner No.1 is married but she has not taken legally divorce from her husband. He further submitted that the representation moved by the petitioners is to be looked into in MONIKA RANI 2025.08.30 11:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRWP-9275-2025 2 accordance with law. 4. Heard. 5. Keeping in view the statement of learned State counsel the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law. 6. However, it is made clear that if any offence against the State or any individual is committed by the petitioners, this order would not create any impediment or bar on taking legal action against the petitioners.
