By means of the instant petition, the petitioners claim that they should be paid higher honorarium in view of Government Order No.1542, dated 08.10.2020. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are working as Junior Engineers on contractual basis in the respondent/Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, District-Udham Singh Nagar (“the university”). They are being paid Rs. 15,000/- as honorarium, but it has been enhanced pursuant to Government Order dated 08.10.2020. The petitioners have already given a representation on 29.06.2025 to the Vice Chancellor of the university, which is Annexure No.8 to the writ petition, but no decision is taken. He submits that the respondent-university may be directed to take a decision on it and proceed accordingly in the matter. Learned counsel for the respondent- university submits that the respondent- university will take a decision on the representation dated 29.06.2025 of the petitioners, which is Annexure No.8 to the writ petition, within a period of 4 weeks. The Court takes on record the statement given by learned counsel for the respondent-university. The writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent-university to take a decision on the representation dated 29.06.2025, which is Annexure No.8 to the writ petition filed by the petitioners, within a period of four weeks, and proceed accordingly in the matter.
