Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:27203-DB Chief Justice's Court Case :- PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION (PIL) No. - 160 of 2025 Petitioner :- Rohitash Kumar Respondent :- State Of Uttar Pradesh And 7 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Ambuj Pandey,Vijay Kumar Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C., Seema Agarwal (S.C.) Hon'ble Arun Bhansali,Chief Justice Hon'ble Kshitij Shailendra,J. 1. This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed seeking a direction to the authorities to enquire into the matter and take necessary action against the guilty employees of Paddy Procurement Centres in District Pilibhit regarding the violation of right of farmers and labours. 2. When the matter came up before the Court on 23.01.2025, it was observed that perusal of representation (Annexure-3) indicated that the same was a standard representation which appears to have been prepared for being sent to various Districts as it contained blanks for the purpose of indicating the name of the District and time was granted to complete instructions in that regard. 3. An affidavit has been produced wherein instead of answering the said query, a fresh representation, said to have been sent, has been produced. A look at the representation reveals that except for making allegations, which are totally general in nature, and relying on the newspaper reports, nothing else has been alleged or indicated requiring the Court to order investigation and/or seek response from the respondents. 4. The filing of the public interest litigation based on the newspaper reports without the purported public interest petitioners holding some research and /or enquiry and producing relevant material on record, cannot be countenanced. 5. In view thereof, we do not find any reason to entertain the present writ petition, filed purportedly in public interest. The same is, therefore, dismissed. Order Date :- 27.2.2025 Sharad/P. Sri.
