The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no.2 to cancel the certificate of registration of marriage between the petitioner and respondent no.3 dated 3.8.2022. 2. The case of the petitioner is that respondent no.3 got the marriage registered under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Marriage Registration Rules, 2017 by misrepresenting that his marriage has been solemnized with the petitioner, whereas the fact is that no marriage has been solemnized and respondent no.3 has totally misrepresented in this regard. Petitioner is also stated to have filed an FIR against respondent no.3 under Sections 308, 303, 115(2), 119(1), 127(2), 61(1) B.N.S. She has also filed application before the respondent no.2 for cancellation of the marriage certificate. The application filed in this behalf is dated March, 2025. 3. As the marriage certificate has not been cancelled, so far, the present petition has been filed. 4. Having regard to the fact that the petitioner has already filed application for cancellation of the marriage certificate and the said application is stated to be pending, therefore, we dispose of the instant writ petition with direction to respondent no.2 to decide the application filed in March, 2025 (Annexure-3), within a period of twelve weeks' from the date of Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Pankaj Kumar, Pooja Mishra Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C.
