The case of the petitioner is that he applied for renewal of his passport vide application dated 7.5.2024, filed online. He was issued a show cause notice dated 5.6.2024 on basis of an adverse police report. The petitioner appeared before respondent no. 2 and apprised him of the fact that he has been acquitted in one of the criminal case and in the other case, a final report has already been submitted. However, when the passport was still not renewed, he made a fresh application on 21.7.2025. On 28.7.2025, he appeared before respondent no. 2 and apprised him of the status of the criminal cases, but still the passport has not been renewed. 2. Sri Annapurna Singh Chandel, Advocate, is present for respondent nos. 1 and 2. 3. Having regard to the facts of the case and the submissions made, we dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to file written representation along with supporting evidence before respondent no. 2 and in which event, respondent no. 2 will take decision on the application of the petitioner for renewal of passport within next four weeks.
