This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner has sought for the following reliefs:- "i. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 24.07.2024 (Annexure No.1 to the writ petition) passed by District Magistrate, Azamgarh, District - Azamgarh. ii. issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent No.2 to issue the character certificate in favor of the petitioner." 3. Upon perusal of the documents and upon hearing the learned counsel appearing on behalf of parties, we are of the view that the impugned order does not take into consideration the nature of crime on the basis of which the application of the petitioner for grant of character certificate has been rejected. 4. In light of the same, authority concerned is directed to once again look into the application of the petitioner for grant of character certificate, and thereafter, pass a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from date, after granting an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. 5.
