By the present petition the petitioner is seeking a direction towards the respondent authorities to grant the seniority to the petitioner from the date on which his batch-mates were granted the seniority. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is working as Sub Engineer, Department of Public Works (Bridge). In respect of some anomaly in the seniority/gradation list of 2 the Sub Engineer (Civil) published as on 1-4-2020, the petitioner has approached the higher authorities for correction of the said anomaly. Even the Superintending Engineer, PWD, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur, has also requested the Chief Engineer, PWD, Bilaspur Range, Bilaspur, vide its communication dated 23-12-2022 for necessary correction in respect of seniority of the petitioner, but till date no action has been taken by the authorities, despite the fact that the petitioner is running from pillar to post for redressal of his grievance. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the State would submit that since the petitioner is seeking a limited prayer for decision of his representation, if the same is pending consideration before the respondent authorities the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law within a stipulated period. 4. I have heard learned counsel appearing for the parties and perused the documents. 5. Having considered the entire facts situation of the case; particularly considering the fact that the petitioner has already submitted a representation before the Engineer-in-Chief, PWD, for correction of his seniority in the gradation list of Sub Engineer (Civil) published as on 1-4-2020; and also the fact that the Superintending Engineer has requested the Chief Engineer vide communication dated 23-12-2022 in this regard, the respondent No.2/Engineer-in-Chief, PWD is directed to consider and decide the pending representation of the petitioner, in accordance with law and on its own merits, as early as possible preferably within a period of 50 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of. 7. The petitioner is at liberty to apprise about this order to the respondent No.2/Engineer-in-Chief.
