Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed an election petition (Annexure P-1), which is not being decided and the same is pending since long hence, the respondents be directed to decide the election petition in a time bound manner so that the petitioner does not suffer any prejudice.

Chawla, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and submits that if both the parties will coordinate and cooperate, all the efforts will be made to decide the election within a period of six months from the next date of hearing already fixed before the Election Tribunal.
