The Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, is filed on behalf of the petitioner/accused, to grant anticipatory bail in connection with Crime No.8 of 2025 of Kalikiri Police Station, Annamayya District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner/accused for the offences punishable under Sections 64(2)(m), 69 BNS, 5(I) read with 6 of POCSO Act, 2012. 2 3. Case of the prosecution is that, accused developed acquaintance with victim whenever she visits her grandmother’s house. In the month of August, 2024, one day in the mid-night, the accused called her and took her in a Car to a Mango garden and committed rape on her. Thus, the accused committed sexual intercourse with the victim girl between August 2024 and 25.01.2025. 4. A perusal of the material on record goes to show that the investigation is still at nascent stage and the alleged offences are grievous in nature. 5. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that accused is alleged to have committed offences punishable under the provisions of POCSO Act, 2012 and the investigation in this case is still in progress. 6. In view of the aforesaid reasons, this court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner/accused. 7. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed. _____________________________ JUSTICE K.
