The petitioner has preferred present petition with the prayer to direct the respondent No.2/District Magistrate, Bareilly to decide the application dated 18.01.2025 for grant of Firearm License to the petitioner. 2. It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that an application dated 18.01.2025 was filed by the father of the petitioner before the respondent no.2 that since he is unable to look after the fire-arm license hence same may be transferred in favour of petitioner. It is argued that considerable time has already been lapsed but till date no final decision has been taken in the matter. 3. On the other hand, it is argued by learned Standing Counsel that the respondent No.2 will take a decision in the matter expeditiously. 4. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. 5. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of finally directing the respondent No.2/District Magistrate, Bareilly to decide the aforesaid application most expeditiously and preferably within a period of six weeks from Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Gaurav Sisodia Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. Harnarayan Saxena .....Petitioner(s) State of U.P. and Another .....Respondent(s) the date of production of certified copy of this order unless there is no legal impediment. 6. In case the decision has already been taken by the District Magistrate, Bareilly on the aforesaid application, the same will be communicated to the petitioner forthwith.
