[2] This present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following reliefs:- “i) Issue Rule NISI; ii) Issue a writ of Certiorari, or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature thereof, quashing and setting aside the order dated 08-05-2025 passed by the Respondent No. 2, whereby the renewal of the Petitioner's license as a Deed Writer was refused ; iii) Issue a Writ in the nature of Mandamus, mandating/directing the Respondent authorities to renew the Petitioner's deed writer's license, in accordance with his application for renewal dated 23-12-2024; iv) Issue a writ of Mandamus, or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature thereof, directing the Respondents, particularly the Respondent No. 2, to forthwith renew the license of the Petitioner in terms of the order dated 01-03-2025 passed by the Ld. Appellate Authority in Appeal Case No. 01/Revenue(Stamp &Registration)/Secy /2025 and 1.A.02 of 2025/Revenue(Stamp &Registration)/Secy/2025; v) An interim order be passed directing the Respondents to allow and treat the Petitioner to be a license holder and is entitled to perform his profession al work till disposal of the Writ Petition.” [3] It appears from the record that an order was passed on 08.05. 2025 by the District Registrar, West Tripura in setting aside the cancellation order dated 27.11.2024 and further directing the petitioner to make a fresh application for new license as and when notification is published under the said act and rules. This observation of the District Registrar directing the petitioner to make a fresh application is unwarranted. It is needless to observe that once the cancellation order is set aside, the benefits and the honour of the petitioner should be restored. [4] In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent- District Registrar, West Tripura to issue/renew the license of the petitioner for conducting the business as per procedure without any further delay. With the above observation and direction, this present writ petition stands disposed of. As a sequel, miscellaneous application(s), pending if any, shall stand closed.
