This is an application filed by the petitioner praying for grant of anticipatory bail in terms of Sections 482 and 484 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 apprehending his arrest for the offences under Sections 274/275/292/303(2)/317(2)/61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 47(a) of the Excise Act.

There is allegation against the petitioner is that he had loaded the vehicle with illicit liquor.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that his name transpired from the confessional statement of the driver, as one of the associates of Chandradeo Mandal who is the main accused. He fairly submits that there is one criminal antecedent of similar nature.

Learned counsel for the State submits that 295 cartoons of illegal foreign liquor which was to be sold only in the State of Punjab was seized. This petitioner is one of the accused in this case.

There is nothing in the petition to suggest that the petitioner is apprehending arrest in this case. Thus, I am not inclined to entertain this application. The petitioner is directed to surrender before the Trial Court and seek regular bail which shall be considered by the said Court strictly in compliance of the guidelines laid down in the case of Satender Kumar Antil vs. Central Bureau of Investigation & Another, reported in 2022 (10) SCC 51
2025:JHHC:11436 as well as the observation made in the case of Satender Kumar Antil vs. Central Bureau of Investigation & Another, reported in 2024 (9) SCC 198.

Accordingly, the instant application stands disposed.
