Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Judge The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No.92/2019, registered on 22.08.2019 at Police Station Damtal, District Kangra, H.P. under Section 22 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. 2. On considering the status report, following order was passed in the matter on 25.04.2025:- “Learned Additional Advocate General submits that now only five prosecution witnesses remain to be examined, and all of them are police officials. 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 The matter for examination/recording the statements of these witnesses is statedly listed before the learned Trial Court on 05th and 06th May, 2025. Learned counsel on both sides assure that full cooperation will be rendered to the learned Trial Court for recording statements of these witnesses on the given dates and that no adjournments will be sought from either side for examination of the aforesaid witnesses. List this matter on 13.05.2025.” 3. Learned Deputy Advocate General has placed on record fresh status report, in terms whereof, but for one prosecution witness, statements of all others now stand recorded. For recording the statement of remaining prosecution witness, the matter is now fixed before the learned Trial Court on 27.05.2025. Learned Deputy Advocate General submits that the sole prosecution witness that remains to be examined on 27.05.2025, is a police official and it will be ensured that he is examined before the learned Trial Court on the given date. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that no unnecessary adjournment shall be taken for the petitioner and due cooperation will be rendered for completing the Trial expeditiously. Learned counsel also states that in view of assurance given by learned Deputy Advocate General that remaining prosecution witness shall be examined on 27.05.2025, he is under instructions not to press this bail petition at this stage. 3 4. In view of above submissions, the present petition is disposed of as not pressed. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
