Heard Sri Akshay Tripathi holding brief of Sri Ravindra Sharma for the petitioner, Sri Kaushal Kishor holding brief of Smt. Swarnlata Simon for respondents no. 1 & 4 and learned Standing Counsel for respondents no. 2 and 3. 2. It seems that the passport of the petitioner was renewed upto 07.07.2035 but soon thereafter it transpired that the petitioner is involved in a criminal case and which fact was not brought to the knowledge of Passport Officer at the time of obtaining the passport. On 22 July, 2025, a notice was issued to the petitioner seeking his explanation in respect of the said criminal case and why action should not be taken to impound the passport. 3. The case of the petitioner is that he came to know of pendency of criminal case after the passport was issued. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would seek no objection from the jurisdictional criminal Court in accordance with the law laid down by a co-ordinate bench in Writ-C No. 41540 of 2023 (Pawan Kumar Rajbhar vs. Union of India and 2 others). 4. Sri Kaushal Kishor, Advocate appearing for respondents no. 1 and 4 has no objection to the same. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Ravindra Sharma Counsel for Respondent(s) : A.S.G.I., C.S.C. Sharda Prasad Bind .....Petitioner(s) Union Of India And 3 Others .....Respondent(s) petitioner to apply for no objection and in case, the same is granted, file the same before respondent no. 4, so that further action is taken in the matter, accordingly. The petitioner will also apprise respondent no. 4 of his explanation and that he is in process of seeking no objection from the concerned Court in response to notice dated 22.07.2022, within two weeks.
