The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus directing respondents to issue corrected passport to him in pursuance of application filed in this behalf. The petitioner is seeking correction in the date of birth mentioned in his passport. 2. Sri Sanjay Dwivedi, Advocate appearing for respondents has placed on record the instructions received from Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad, according to which, the petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport on 24.1.2023 along with a copy of school certificate and other documents in support of his prayer for correction of date of birth. The File remained pending for one year and ultimately, it was closed vide letter dated 3.2.2024. The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport on 18.3.2024 with changed date of birth and furnished a copy of PAN Card in support of the new date of birth, which he wants to be mentioned in the passport. The petitioner was asked to visit the RPO office with necessary documents but he failed to complete the formalities, and therefore, a closure notification dated 28.8.2024 was issued to him with advise to him to visit the RPO office within 15 days with necessary documents. It is stated that since no response was received from the petitioner, therefore, the second application was closed on 8.11.2024. It is further stated that in case the petitioner applies afresh along with necessary documents and complete the formalities, the respondents will process the application. 3. In view of the aforesaid stand, we dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to apply afresh and complete the formalities, so that his Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Ranjeet Singh Counsel for Respondent(s) : A.S.G.I., Sanjay Dwivedi Om Prakash .....Petitioner(s) Union Of India And Another .....Respondent(s) application is processed, expeditiously, in accordance with law.
