The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondent Nos.4 to 6dxx and take action on their representation dated 09.08.2025 (Annexure P-5). 2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that boy is 22 years old and girl is more than 23 years old. They are in love. Their parents are against their relationship and threats have even been extended to petitioner No.2 by her parents and relatives to kill her. Petitioners no.1 and 2 performed marriage with each other according to their Religious Rites and Ceremonies on 16.07.2025. Respondents No.4 to 6 are behind the lives of the petitioners thereby compelling them to run from one place to another. Apprehending danger to their life and liberty, they sent representation dated 09.08.2025 (Annexure P-5) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T, Chandigarh, but the same has not been taken into consideration and hence the present petition. In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioners, without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to respondent No. 2 to decide the aforesaid representation dated 11.08.2025 (Annexure P-5) of the petitioners within a period of 15 days from today, by passing a speaking order in accordance with law.
