CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SACHIN SHANKAR MAGADUM ORAL ORDER
The complainant/respondent No.2 is present before this Court.
2. Today, a joint affidavit has been filed by the petitioners/accused and respondent No.2/complainant. In the said affidavit, respondent No.2 has stated that the petitioners, who are all workmen engaged as coolies in the same establishment, have, with the intervention of elders and well-wishers, amicably resolved their differences. Respondent No.2 has further expressed that he does not wish to pursue the allegations levelled in the complaint and intends to withdraw the same.
3. On perusal of the record, this Court finds that the offences alleged in the present case are of a

compoundable nature and do not partake the character of any heinous or grave offence affecting society at large. In view of the voluntary withdrawal of allegations and the settlement arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the considered opinion that continuance of the criminal proceedings would amount to an abuse of the process of law and that the matter deserves to be given a quietus.
4. Respondent No.2 is present before this Court. On being specifically queried, he has candidly acknowledged the execution of the settlement and affirmed that the same has been entered into voluntarily, without any coercion, undue influence, or pressure from any quarter. The Court is satisfied as to the genuineness of the compromise.
5. In light of the above, and having regard to the settlement duly recorded between the parties, this Court proceeds to pass the following:
