Present writ petition has been filed seeking following reliefs:- "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 3 to decide the petitioner's application from dated 19.08.2025, which was numbered as Application Reference No. 250059012202 within stipulated period." 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he has filed an application dated 19.8.2025 having Reference No. 250059012202 for change of name in passport, but till date the same has not been decided, hence a direction may be issued to respondent no. 3-Regional Officer, Passport Office Complex, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, to decide the same at the earliest, which is not objected by learned counsel for the respondents. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no. 3- Regional Officer, Passport Office Complex, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, to decide the same in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the case on merits. It is upon respondent no. 3-Regional Officer, Passport Office Complex, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, to pass order after considering the relevant Rules as well as facts of the case. October 8, 2025 A.P.
