The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the Kalrayan Hill ranges are divided into five Nadus and that Act 26 of 1963 was enacted to acquire rights in Inam lands and to introduce Ryotwari settlements in such estates. The Government passed G.O.Ms.No.3551, Revenue, dated 31.12.1965, by which the abolition of the Inam estate in the Kalrayan Hills came into effect on 01.02.1966. Section 10 of the Act provides for the grant of Ryotwari patta to the ryots. In the year 1971, the Government also issued instructions regarding the grant of patta. The petitioners have filed these writ petitions seeking patta in respect of the Poonjai Tharisu (dry wasteland) lands situated in S.F.Nos. 72, 84, 90, and 91. Although the petitioners have submitted representations requesting the issuance of patta for the said tharisu lands, their representations have not yet been considered. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

In reply, learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioners’ representations dated 02.12.2024 and 10.12.2024, will be disposed of by the 5th respondent within a period of six weeks. 4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record. 5. In view of the above, this Court directs the 5th respondent to consider the petitioners’ representations dated 02.12.2024 and 10.12.2024 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6.
