The allegation in this instant case is that the accused protested on 21.07.2020 as against the lockdown announced by the State and Central Government. Firstly, it can be seen that the allegations are in the nature of democratic protest and does not make out any offence. Secondly, for the nature of offence, the accused has been facing the case from the year 2020 and any continuation of the trial from here on would be impinging upon their right to speedy trial of the accused. Accordingly, the case in S.T.C.No.302 of 2021 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ariyalur Taluk, Ariyalur is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer case is disposed of. 21.08.2025 rap Note to the Trial Court: This order is digitally signed and communicated electronically alone.
