GP FOR HOME (AP) The Court made the following: ORDER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for: “.... a writ or direction to order an independent investigation by the State Human Rights Commission under section 13 and 14 of Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 in to the above mentioned incidents of police atrocities which took place on 07.09.2019 at Somandepally P S continous till today against the petitioners and if such allegations are found correct pass further consequential and necessary directions including initiation of criminal prosecution as well as disciplinary proceedings against the police officers of Somandepalli Police found involved and also against those senior police officers at whose behest this vindictive act of atrocity was done” 2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. 3. Sri Md.Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home would submit that a case has been registered against the petitioners herein vide Crime No.142 of 2019 for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 355, 323 read with 34 IPC and Section 3(1)(r)(s) of the SCs and the STs (PoA) Act. Police after conducting investigation in the said crime, filed charge sheet and the same is pending before the trial Court and further a Criminal Petition No.73 of 2020 has been filed by the petitioners seeking quashment of the case and the same was dismissed vide order dated 02.11.2023. 4. In that view, this petition is devoid of merits and accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed.
