By means of present writ petition, petitioner seeks the following reliefs:- “a. Issue a writ of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 07.03.2014 annexed at Annexure No.1 of this writ petition whereby the representation of the petitioner has been rejected. b. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing and calling upon the respondents to select the name of the petitioner for the non SCS IAS quota and to grant him IAS cadre from the year 2004 with all financial benefits. c. Issue a writ of mandamus directing a Central Level Independent inquiry through UPSC or any other agency to find the facts and in order to punish the delinquent officers responsible for the injustice done with the petitioner.” 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner makes a statement at Bar that during pendency of present writ petition, petitioner retired and thereafter he also passed away. He, thus, submits that on account of aforesaid event, writ petition has become infructuous. 2025:UHC:5522-DB 5.
