1. The petitioner has filed the present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant interest @ 18% per annum on the delayed payments of retiral benefits/pensionary benefits.
2. Learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr. Pawan Kumar, J.A. Clerk, Civil Surgeon Office, Fazilka, submits that the interest @ 6% per annum shall be paid to the petitioner on the delayed payments of all the retiral benefits, within a period of four months from today.
3. In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, no further directions are required and the petition is accordingly, disposed of.
