P.S.APPU, GP THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 27.03.2025, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING: 2025:KER:26437 W.P (C) No.44606/2025 -2- J U D G M E N T The petitioner applied for fresh regular permit on inter district route which requires concurrence from Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kottayam and the RTA, Muvattupuzha. The primary authority namely the RTA, Idukki has forwarded the application directing the 2nd respondent to obtain concurrence from RTA, Kottayam and RTA, Muvattupuzha. The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that though the decision of the RTA, Idukki to obtain concurrence was taken as early as on 22-08-2024, the RTA, Kottayam and the RTA, Muvattupuzha have not so far taken a decision on the question of concurrence. 2. The learned Government Pleader submits that the RTA, Kottayam and RTA, Muvattupuzha can be directed to take decision within a time frame to be fixed by this court. 3. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader and having regard to the fact that the RTA, Idukki (primary authority) had decided to seek concurrence from the RTA, Kottayam and the RTA, Muvattupuzha upon the application filed by the petitioner for fresh regular permit as early as on 22-08-2024, the RTA, Kottayam and the RTA, Muvattupuzha can be directed to take a decision in the matter of concurrence within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a 2025:KER:26437 W.P (C) No.44606/2025 -3- certified copy of this court, if necessary by circulation. The RTA, Kottayam and the RTA, Muvattupuzha shall take a decision as aforesaid and communicate their decision to RTA, Idukki without further delay. Sd/- GOPINATH P.
