HEMALEKHA ORAL ORDER The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 29.07.2025 (Annexure-A), and consequently, to restore the electricity connection vide meter Account ID 4584362000 (RR.NO.BS5LG46535) pertaining to the schedule property. 2. The petitioner claims that he has purchased the schedule property in a bank auction conducted by Central Bank Home Finance Limited. After confirmation of sale and delivery of possession in favour of the petitioner, the said electricity connection came to be disconnected on the ground of outstanding arrears, and charges relating to the said installation. 3. The petitioner contends that, despite submitting a representation and expressing his readiness to clear the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:46541 WP No. 30833 of 2025 dues, the respondents have not considered the same for restoration of the electricity supply. 4. Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that if the petitioner clears the arrears and charges pertaining to the said installation, the electricity connection will be restored. 5. Submission is recorded. 6. In view of the above circumstances, this Court pass the following: ORDER The writ petition is disposed of with the following directions: i. Respondent No.2 is directed to intimate to the petitioner, within one week from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, the exact quantum of outstanding dues and arrears pertaining to the said installation. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:46541 WP No. 30833 of 2025 ii. The petitioner shall clear the said dues within a period of two weeks thereafter. iii. Upon payment of the outstanding amount, respondent No.2 shall take all necessary steps to restore the electricity supply to the schedule property forthwith, and in any case within one week from the date of such payment.
