The petitioner-wife of the detenu-Shakir @ Abdul Ghani [CTP No.18589] is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs; a. Direct the Respondent No.2 that petitioner’s husband Shakir @ Abdul Ghani CTP No.18589 may be released on parole for a period of 90 days. b. Pass such other order/s which this court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice. 2. The detenu had been convicted in S.C.No.185/2006 for offences under Section 498(A) and 302 of IPC by the Prl. Sessions Judge, Shimoga and sentenced on 23.02.2007 with the highest of the sentence being imprisonment for life. The detenu has served a period of 8 years 5 months 14 days of incarceration as on 18.02.2025. The application for release on - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:53207 WP No. 9009 of 2025 parole by the detenu having been rejected, the petitioner is before this Court. 3. Learned AGA submits that on earlier occasion when the detenu was released on parole, the detenu had escaped from 29.11.202 on xxxx his capture on 28.11.2018. in that view of the matter, I am of the considered opinion that it is not a fit case to grant parole. 4.
