1. The present writ appeal has been filed by the appellants aggrieved by the impugned order dated 03.02.2025 passed by the Hon’ble Single Bench of this Court in WPC No. 722 of 2025, whereby the prayer of the petitioners to have their names included in the impugned final electoral roll published vis a vis the conduct of Panchayat Elections in the Gram Hirri, Tahsil Dhamdha, District Durg, Chhattisgarh.
2. The appellants have filed the present writ appeal with the following
3 reliefs:
“1. It is therefore prayed that this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to allow this appeal and quash/set- aside the impugned Order dated 03.02.2025 (ANNEXURE WA/1) passed by the Hon'ble Single Bench of this Hon'ble Court in WPC No. 722 of 2025.
2. That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct respondent authorities to add the names of the petitioners in the impugned final electoral roll vis-à-vis conduct of panchayat elections in the Gram Hirri, Tehsil Dhamdha, District Durg, Chhattisgarh which got published on 18.01.2025 under the sign & seal of Registration Officer, Janpad Panchayat, Dhamdha, District - Durg (C.G.).
3. That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to enable the petitioners to participate and/or contest in the upcoming panchayat elections for the post(s) of Sarpanch/Panch in Gram Hirri, Tehsil - Dhamdha, District - Durg, Chhattisgarh.
4. Cost of the Petition.
5. Any other relief, which this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper, may also be kindly granted in favor of the petitioners, in the interest of justice.”

Learned counsel appearing for the appellants would submit that the respondent authorities may be directed to add the names of the petitioner in the final electoral roll.

4. On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the elections of Panchayat Elections have already been taken place and therefore, the present appeal has become infructuous.
5. We have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.
6. Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and looking to the fact that the Panchayat Elections have already been taken place, the present writ appeal stands dismissed as having become infructuous.
