None appears for the petitioners on call. The present contempt petition is filed alleging willful and deliberate violation of the order dated 25.09.2023 passed in WP(C) No.3929/2023. By the aforesaid order, this court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioners and counter claim of the parties, disposed of the writ petition by granting two weeks time from the date of the order to the writ petitioners to submit individual representation ventilating their grievances in the matter before the District Magistrate, Darrang, Mangaldai and it was
Page No.# 3/3 further directed that in the event such representation is submitted within two weeks, the same be considered objectively and be
disposed of by a speaking order to be passed as expeditiously as possible, but not later than 8 weeks thereafter. Mr. Sarma learned counsel submits that by an order dated 19.09.2024, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Revenue, Darrang, Mangaldai has passed a speaking order and it was decided that the Circle Officer, Mangaldai shall identify a suitable plot of land so that process of settlement of the petitioners may be initiated following due process of law. In the considered opinion of this court, in view of the passing of the order dated 19.09.2024, this contempt petition should be closed. Accordingly, the instant contempt petition stands closed. A copy of the order dated 19.09.2024 is kept on record and marked as document X.
