4. Learned State counsel has not raised any dispute regarding the factum of compromise. Status report by way of affidavit of Ms. Rupinder Kaur, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division, Dirba on behalf of respondent No.l-State has been filed, which is taken on record. As per status report, petitioners were the only accused in the FIR and no involvement of any other person was found in the investigation, whereupon, offences under Sections 148, 149 were deleted and Sections 459, 325 and 34 IPC were added. Since the matter has been amicably resolved, continuation of the criminal proceedings would be an exercise in futility. 5. Following principles of law laid down by the Full Bench
Judgment of this Court in “Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and another” 2007(3) RCR (Criminal) 1052 and Hon’ble Supreme Court in
“Gian Singh Versus State of Punjab and others” (2012) 10 SCC 303, the petition is allowed.
