1. The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C for directing the respondents No.2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members at the hands of the accused person.
2. Mr. Piyush Sharma, Advocate, appears on behalf of the petitioner and has filed his Vakalatnama, which is taken on record. He submits that the only accused namely Varinder Pal Singh @ V.P. Singh has been acquitted vide judgment dated 13.06.2025, passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Exclusively dealing with rape cases, Ferozepur, and therefore, the instant petition has been rendered infructuous. Hence, he wishes to withdraw the same.
3. Learned State counsel has referred to the order dated 09.12.2024, whereby the salaries of the SHO heading the Police Station where the FIR was registered as well as his supervisory officer i.e. Deputy Monika Verma 2025.08.19 09:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment chandigarh
CRWP-12219-2021(O&M) -2- Superintendent of Police were withheld. He submits that in compliance of the said order, salaries of these two officers were withheld.
3. Dismissed as withdrawn.
4. However, it is clarified that since the main petition has been withdrawn by the petitioner, the order dated 09.12.2024 ceases to have any effect and salaries of the concerned officers shall be released in accordance with law.
