The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent authorities to continue fishery lease from the date of its expiry on 14.09.2025 for a further period of 10 years, in respect of Plot Nos. 334/0.696 hectare situate at village Bhauwapur, Tehsil Chauri Chaura, District Gorakhpur. A representation in this regard is stated to be pending before the concerned authority. Counsel for the State-respondents has pointed out that as per sub- rule (12) of Rule 57 of the U.P. Revenue Code Rules, 2016, a lease is to be executed for a period of ten years and thereafter the same shall not be renewed or extended.
