Petitioner, who has been arrayed as accused in case FIR No.93 dated 30.05.2023, registered against him at the instance of respondent No.2 – Amit Bawa (complainant) for commission of offences punishable u/s 341, 323, 506, 294 of IPC, at Police Station City Jagraon, District Ludhiana, has filed the present petition for quashing of the aforesaid FIR along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, on the strength of compromise dated 15.07.2025 (wrongly mentioned as 14.07.2025 in petition) appended as Annexure P-2. 2. With the intervention of respectables and elderly person of the society, the parties have arrived at a settlement vide compromise dated 15.07.2025 (Annexure P-2), which is duly signed by them. The matter was referred to the Court below for recording of statements of the parties and to report with respect to genuineness of the compromise arrived at between the parties. The learned trial NISHA 2025.09.18 17:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-42346-2025 -2- Court vide report dated 11.09.2025 has apprised this Court that the compromise arrived at between the parties is genuine and without any pressure. 3. Status Report dated 16.09.2025 by way of affidavit of Mr. Jasjyot Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jagraon, District Ludhiana (Rural), has been filed on behalf of the respondent-State, which is taken on record. 4. Respondent No.2 is represented by his counsel and admits the factum of compromise. 5. In view of the aforesaid report of the trial Court and in view of the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in “ Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab and another”, 2012(4) RCR (Criminal) 543 and “ Narinder Singh and Others Vs. State of Punjab and Another”, (2014) 6 SCC 466, this Court is of the opinion that all the offences are compoundable except Section 294 IPC, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term extending up to three months, or with fine, or with both and considering the fact that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the criminal proceedings pending. 6. In view of the above, the present petition is allowed. FIR No.93 dated 30.05.2023, under Sections 341, 323, 506, 294 of IPC, registered at Police Station City Jagraon, District Ludhiana and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise qua the present petitioner.
