HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - C No. - 28655 of 2025 Court No. - 21 HON'BLE MANOJ KUMAR GUPTA, J. HON'BLE ARUN KUMAR, J. 1. The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding respondents No.2 and 3 to issue passport in favour of petitioner and for quashing of notice dated 02.04.2025, issued by Regional Passport Office, Lucknow. 2. By the impugned notice, the petitioner has been called upon to offer explanation in relating to Case Crime No.248 of 2014 under Sections 342, 365, 307, 323, 419, 420, 506 IPC. 3. The case of the petitioner is that he is not an accused in the said case and there are only two NCRs registered against him and which would not be an impediment in granting passport to him. 4. Admittedly, the petitioner has not submitted any reply to show cause notice so far, although he claims to have personally appeared in the office of respondent No.2 and explained to him his stand. 5. We dispose of the instant petition with liberty to the petitioner to submit his explanation, in writing, alongwith supporting evidence and in which event, respondent No.2 shall take appropriate decision on the application of the petitioner for grant of passport, within next four weeks.
